Sky Bet Championship outfit Derby County have entered discussions with West Bromwich Albion over Victor Anichebe, according to the Sun.

While the Nigerian hasn’t been a prolific marksman during his career, his power and ability to hold the ball would certainly be an asset to the team.

While he was used regularly by Tony Pulis last season, Solomon Rondon and Rickie Lambert have joined the club this summer, meaning Anichebe’s playing will be restricted.

Whether his playing time will be more frequent at Derby is another matter with Chris Martin and Darren Bent both currently fighting for places.

However, Rams boss Paul Clement feels that he needs a powerful striker upfront and with a reported £3m investment, the 27-year old will be expecting to be a first team regular.

Derby County currently sit in 16th place in the Sky Bet Championship season, after a mediocre start to their 2015/16 campaign, which has seen the club draw every single one of their league games thus far this season.

Derby County fans……..What do you make of the news? Would Anichebe be a good signing? Is his style of play something you need? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
