Derby County edging ever closer to managerial appointment

Derby County are set to interview many managerial candidates this week, following the recent departure of Nigel Pearson, according to the Mirror.

Chairman Mel Morris has shortlisted a number of candidates, following the sacking of Pearson last week, after an alleged bust-up with the former Leicester boss before his departure.

This leaves the door open for assistant manager Chris Powell on a permanent basis, having led the Rams to a win and a draw in their last two games.

Another candidate reportedly said to be on Morris’ mind is Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett, but whether the Blues would let him leave for a Championship rival remains to be seen.

Pearson leaves Derby a massively underwhelming 20th in the league table, after just two wins, four draws, and five losses.

So…What do you think¬†Derby fans? Would you like to see either Powell or Rowett get the vacant Derby job? Who else would you like to see as manager? Leave your suggestions and thoughts in the comments below!
