Derby County centre-back Farrend Rawson has extended his loan at Rotherham United until the end of the season after impressing in the first half of the campaign, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old is a Derby County youth graduate from their academy and has made 15 appearances for Rotherham this season, scoring two goals.
Rawson has helped get the Millers outside of the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone on goal difference, and this news of him staying will surely give Millers fans hope they can maintain their status in the second tier of English football.
He is a regular starter for the Millers and has recently impressed in a centre-half pairing with Kirk Broadfoot, and Millers boss Neil Redfearn has a lot of praise for the youngster.
Speaking to the Millers official site, Redfearn said: “Faz has been impressive when he has played; he is a talented young lad with a long career in front of him.”
“The more games he gets under his belt, the better he is going to be at this level.”
The former Leeds boss is known for his ability to nurture younger players and Rawson will only grow under Redfearn.
Rotherham United currently sit 21st in the Championship and having to fight for results every week will no doubt strengthen Rawson.
