Derby County have been handed a blow after learning the extent of Krystian Bielik’s injury with a report claiming he has damaged his knee.
Bielik is expected to face a lengthy period out of action after suffering a serious knee injury in the U23 fixture with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.
The summer signing from Premier League side Arsenal returned to action for Derby after missing three games through suspension following a red card against Charlton Athletic.
The midfielder went down after 18 minutes during the game and was then carried off on a stretcher in discomfort.
Results from scans he had on Tuesday were not expected to be known until later in the week, but a report in Polish press has claimed that Bielik will now spend the remainder of the season on the sidelines.
Derby have been on a good run of form lately and they will be hoping Bielik’s absence does not stop them beating Hull City at the weekend.

A big loss for Derby and boss Phillip Cocu who ideally needs all the options he can get as the season enters the latter months.
Prior to his suspension, Bielik was performing well and would have almost instantly come back in to the starting eleven, but the Rams have been doing well of late, and his absence may not be felt to much if the likes of Duane Homes and Wayne Rooney continue their good form.
Cocu will undoubtedly miss Bielik, but he must remained focused on results.
