Championship play-off hopefuls Derby County could be set for a fight to keep hold of young right back Jayden Bogle.

According to Alan Nixon, Bogle is attracting the attention of Sean Dyche and Burnley, who have been impressed with the Rams defender this term after flourishing under Frank Lampard.

The flying full-back has been a regular for Lampard's men, and it was inevitable that clubs would start to show an interest in the 18-year-old, and it now appears that Burnley might well be ready to test Derby's resolve when it comes to keeping hold of their man.

Bogle, who was only give his chance in the first team this season by Lampard, is a product of the Rams academy and would no doubt command a hefty fee if the club did decide to cash in on one of their youngest and brightest assets.

Lampard however will no doubt be keen to keep hold of his better players as the second half of the season continues, with the Rams play-off chances just beginning to hit something of a snag following their last few results, including a loss this weekend to Leeds United.

Burnley have a habit of snapping up talent from the Championship and below in recent years, and will no doubt be confident of landing Bogle if they did indeed decide to make their move.

The Verdict

This would be a solid signing for Burnley, but quite the loss for Derby in all honesty.

Bogle has become a key player for the Rams and yes, he makes a few errors, but overall his play has been excellent.

Attacking full-backs are a much needed commodity in the modern game, and Bogle would slot in nicely at Burnley if given the chance.
