Gary Rowett looks set to work with the same nucleus of players at Derby County next season, after the club announced no contracted players would be leaving the Pride Park Stadium.

Derby confirmed that Julien De Sart, who had been on-loan from Middlesbrough, would be returning to the Riverside Stadium to link up with his parent-club, whilst major announcements were only made in the under 23s.

Alefe Santos and Tom Mellors will both been released by the Rams in June when their contracts expire, and Matt Yates and Joe Bateman will replace them in the under 23s, as they make the step up from the under 18s.

The Rams reiterated that they had opted to extend the deals of Darren Bent and Chris Baird by one-year, meaning the duo will remain at the Pride Park Stadium until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Rowett will be hopeful he can build on Derby’s ninth-placed during his first full season with the club.

The 43-year old was appointed as Derby’s manager in March, and oversaw the last nine fixtures of the Sky Bet Championship season, which the Rams lost just twice in.
