Gary Rowett has started putting his plans in place for the 2017/18 campaign, by handing Derby County duo, Darren Bent and Chris Baird, contract extensions, confirms the club’s official website.
Both Bent and Baird were out of contract at the end of the current Sky Bet Championship season, but the Rams have opted to extend their respective contracts by a year.

Baird has featured on 31 occasions for Derby in the Championship this season, with his versatility proving invaluable.
Bent has enjoyed a fine goalscoring campaign, bagging 13 goals across all competitions, including ten in the Championship, which is only bettered at the club by Tom Ince.
Rowett is aiming to challenge for promotion with Derby next season, after a disappointing year in the Championship.
The Rams are currently tenth and have failed to mount a serious challenge for the Play-Offs in 2017.
