The 21-year-old is an academy product at the London club and has had three loan spells away from the club each at Ipswich Town, the latest coming last year, which was cut short due to injury woes.

The Welsh international is, once again, a loan target for many Championship sides including Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who tried to sign him on loan in January and at the beginning of last season.

Though he’s still struggling fitness, he could be set for a move to the Championship with his place at the Euros with Wales in jeopardy, due to lack of first-team football at Palace.

Williams would be an asset to any Championship side and will provide quality in depth in the number 10 role, and he if he can rekindle some of the form he showcased at Ipswich Town, then he will be a fantastic loan signing.

At the age of 21, Williams needs to settle at a club to help him mature and develop as a footballer, as it is evident that the Welshman has an abundance of talent.
