Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday submit enquiries to sign 5ft 9 midfielder

According to football journalist Pete O’Rourke, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday are both weighing up a move for Huddersfield’s Sean Scannell.

The 25-year-old has played over 150 games in total for Huddersfield since joining the club in summer 2012 for an undisclosed fee.

He had previously played for Crystal Palace, where he progressed through the academy and made just shy of 150 appearances for the first team.

The exciting winger has been an integral part of Huddersfield’s team since they won promotion to the Championship but has been mainly used a substitute so far this season.

He could be tempted to move away from David Wagner’s table-topping side to link up with Derby or Sheffield Wednesday.

Pete O’Rourke understands that the two Championship promotion hopefuls Derby and Sheffield Wednesday have made enquiries about Sean Scannell’s availability.

The former Republic of Ireland youth international and once-capped Republic of Ireland B international has plenty of experience in the Championship and can play on either flank.

Huddersfield fans – what do you think? What price would you slap on Scannell? Would you prefer to keep him?

Derby and Sheffield Wednesday fans – would Scannell be a good signing? How much would you pay for him?
