Baba Rahman could be preparing for a January move, much to the interest of a number of clubs in the Championship.

According to The Express, via the Derbyshire Telegraph, Chelsea are open to allowing the defender to move on as Frank Lampard looks to reduce the numbers of senior players at Stamford Bridge.

That could be particularly interesting for Derby County.

The Rams were linked with a move for the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window but were unable to strike a deal for the defender.

But they weren't the only club interested.

Middlesbrough enquired about a loan move for Rahman as they looked to strengthen their squad, but again, this was a move that didn't come off.

However it seems that Chelsea's new stance could give the green light to the two clubs.

The latest reports claim that both Derby and Middlesbrough are looking to reignite their interest next month and so it'll be interesting to see how the next transfer window unfolds.

Who was the Derby County manager when each of these 15 Rams moments happened?

The Verdict

This is going to be very interesting to watch.

Baba Rahman would certainly be a top addition for any club in the Championship and so it's no surprise that there's so much interest in him.

For both Derby County and Middlesbrough, he'd be an excellent addition.

The natural question mark would be with regards to the finances on the deal.

Rahman is likely to be on a huge salary and so if a deal to the second tier is likely to come off then it could take some negotiating to get a deal over the line.
