Curtis Davies has hit back at a Derby County supporter who has questioned the performance of the Rams.
Goals from George Honeyman, Ashley Fletcher, Aiden McGeady and John O’Shea sank Derby, who were left shocked as one of the Sky Bet Championship’s relegation favourites put them to the sword.
Derby are now winless in eight Championship fixtures, with supporters frustrated at their side’s poor run, leading to some questioning Gary Rowett’s playing squad, directing messages towards Davies.
Davies has responded strongly, issuing a passionate message in response to a supporter who was questioning his bravery following the 4-1 defeat.
Man enough? Brave enough? Why do you think I’m the one that’s put in front of the press whenever we have a disappointing result? I’ll never hide https://t.co/JQtvADdxqb

@TheCurtisDavies I would love it if you are Man enough and Brave enough to get back to me and please explain what the hell that was tonight.
Can you be brave enough to answer ??
What has gone so wrong ? Where is the passion ? Which players are playing for the shirt ?

Rowett’s side’s lengthy winless run has seen them slide out of automatic promotion contention, with Derby only remaining in the top-six due to team below them failing to capitalise.
The Rams currently have 62 points, but are now level on points with seventh placed Bristol City, whilst Millwall and Sheffield United sit a point behind them in eighth and ninth respectively.
Derby have eight fixtures of the season remaining, starting with Easter Monday’s trip to Deepdale to face Preston North End.
The pressure is beginning to show at Derby, with Rowett’s side struggling to deal with what the Championship is throwing at them.
Derby’s supporters are extremely frustrated with results, but calling out a player like Davies isn’t the way forward.
The response from the defender shows that the pressure is getting to Derby, and Rowett’s side need to get their composure back if they are to compete in the play-offs.
