According to HITC Sport, Birmingham City midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld is a target for a trio of Championship clubs.

The midfielder's contract is up in the summer and it is unclear as to where his future truly lies after a late deal with Derby County fell through in the last transfer window.

Certainly, he'll be thinking about what could have been with the Blues struggling for any kind of form - despite their weekend win - at the moment, but it appears there are still some interested parties.

Indeed, according to the report, Derby County are still keen on the player and could look to move in January, though it looks as though they are going to have some company.

Indeed, the report also reckons that Bristol City and Hull City are keen on bringing him from St. Andrew's to their respective clubs.

We could, then, see quite the battle for the midfielder in the January window with it probably the last time that the Blues can make some money from him.

His contract does indeed expire at the end of the campaign at which point he could leave on a free.

The Verdict

If Kieftenbeld does move, which is looking likely right now, there surely is only one destination for him - Derby County.

He would be there had the EFL not stopped the deal happening in the last window and he'll surely still be open to heading to Pride Park.
