Bradford City have completed the signinig of winger Harry Chapman, the League Two club have confirmed.

Chapman had been a free agent this summer, following his release by Blackburn Rovers upon the expiration of his contract at Ewood Park.

The winger initially spent the 2017/18 season on loan with Rovers as they won promotion from League One, before making a permanent move to the Lancashire club in January 2019.

However, Chapman struggled for regular football throughout his time with Blackburn, and spent the last season-and-a-half on loan in League One with Shrewsbury and then Burton Albion.

As a result, the 24-year-old found himself looking for a new club when his contract came to an end earlier this summer, and it hasn't taken him long to secure his next destination.

It has now been announced that Chapman has agreed a deal to join Bradford, signing a two-year deal with the Bantams that secures his future at Valley Parade until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Chapman will be looking to help Bradford improve on an underwhelming 14th place finish in League Two from the 2021/22 campaign.

Having completed that move, the winger becomes Bradford's eighth signing of the summer already, and sees him link up with a former Blackburn player and manager, in the form of Mark Hughes.

The Verdict

This feels like it could turn out to be an excellent signing for Bradford.

Chapman has shown throughout his career so far that he is more than capable of making an impact in League One, having done so for a number of clubs, including Blackburn.

As a result, you get the feeling that he could flourish in League Two, meaning he could be a crucial player for Bradford as they look to push towards promotion back to the third-tier.

With that in mind, it is hard not to feel as though this continues to be a really promising transfer window for the Bantams, given the work they have done already.
