Leeds United head to Aston Villa tonight looking to restore some pride, after a difficult period in the Sky Bet Championship.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side sit 14thin the table and are struggling to impress at this current time, with a mid-table finish inevitable when the season ends.

The Whites have just two victories to their name in 2018, with pressure already seemingly building on Heckingbottom following Tuesday night’s disappointing 3-1 defeat to Preston North End.

Things aren’t getting any easier for Heckingbottom, with Leeds heading to Villa Park this evening to take on Aston Villa, who are challenging for promotion.

A lengthy injury list is another concern for Heckingbottom, who will have to field an experimental side this evening as Leeds go in search of a first victory on the road since Boxing Day.

With that in mind, we take a look at a fresh starting XI Heckingbottom could field this evening at Villa Park…

Peacock-Farrell will retain the gloves at Villa Park.

Heckingbottom has very limited options at right-back, which means Dallas is likely to feature.

Diaz stepped off the bench against Preston during the week and is likely to start tonight.

O’Connor is impressing since emerging from Leeds’ under-23s. He will continue tonight.

Denton hasn’t had a taste of Championship action yet, but Heckingbottom has had him around the first-team.

The left-back could feature.

Vieira is still only 19, but in this side, he is an experienced player.

Anita has played at full-back a lot this season, but Heckingbottom will surely be curious to see what he could bring in central midfield.

Getting Hernandez back into a central position is key for Leeds, as he is so important to the Whites.

Captaining the side, Hernandez features ahead of Samuel Saiz.

Alioski features further up the pitch on the right of midfield.

Roofe should be spearheading Leeds’ attack tonight, after a goalscoring return to the starting XI on Tuesday.

We’ve seen Pearce at left-back already this season and surely the youngster is on the verge of another chance.

Heckingbottom might want to see what the teenager can offer higher up the pitch, where he has impressed in the under-23s.
