Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Dennis Adeniran has revealed that he is aiming to bring more goals to the table for the Owls over the coming weeks as he aims to have a greater influence on the side.
Adeniran managed to register his second league goal for Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in the Owls’ 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town. The midfielder produced an instinctive volleyed finish to loft the ball over Václav Hladký and give Darren Moore’s side the lead.
The 22-year-old has been a crucial member of Sheffield Wednesday’s squad so far this season and he has started six of their opening eight League One matches.

His influence for the Owls has been very encouraging in most areas with him managing to average 1.1 shots, 1.6 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game so far this term. Whilst the midfielder has also averaged a passing accuracy of 79% and won an average of 4.9 duels per 90 minutes.

Speaking to Sheffield Wednesday’s official club website, Adeniran outlined that he now wants to start scoring goals more regularly for the Owls this season following his effort at Ipswich.
He said: “It was a nice touch and I just lofted it. I love scoring goals, I want to get more goals to my game, it’s a good feeling.”
Adeniran has proven to be a very astute signing for Sheffield Wednesday so far this season and he looks like a player that will only continue to improve as the campaign progresses.
The 22-year-old has the ability to be a real box-to-box midfielder and he can burst forwards in support of attacks and add an extra threat in the box for Moore’s side.
The midfielder has shown with his two goals this season that he can be a reliable finisher when he gets the chance in the final third. That is something that Moore needs to try and utilise a little more often than he has at times when Adeniran has been playing a little deeper.
If Moore can provide more freedom to Adeniran to get forwards in support of the attack then there is no reason why he can not realise the ambition to add more goals to his game.
Doing that would be a huge boost for the Owls and give opponents another player to worry about in the box.
