It’s been another difficult season in the Sky Bet Championship for Nottingham Forest, who have struggled in mid-table again.

Aitor Karanka has overseen the second-half of the season at the City Ground, guiding Forest to a comfortable finish, whilst offering enough hope ahead of next season.

With the season now over, we take a look back at Forest’s 2017/18 campaign in our latest FLW Spotlight:

Over the 46 Championship fixtures Forest lost on 23 occasions, winning 15 times and drawing the remaining eight games, scoring 51 goals in the process and conceding 65.

Our FLW Player of the Year award goes to Ben Osborn, who featured in every league fixture for the Reds, scoring four goals and assisting a further five.

The impressive, but raw, Joe Worrall claims our Young Player of the Year.

Ben Watson, Karanka’s captain following his January arrival, is our Signing of the Year at the City Ground, whilst our Goal of the Season goes to Kieran Dowell for a magnificent effort against Hull City.

Forest’s Performance of the Year came away from the Championship, when the Reds defeated Arsenal 4-2 in the FA Cup on a memorable day at the City Ground.

Two Eric Lichaj goals and penalties from Ben Brereton and Dowell secured progression past the Premier League outfit.

Finally, we take a look at our best quote of the season, which comes from Karanka when discussing the size of Forest: “When you’re not here, you know about the history but to actually go into the boardroom and see the two European Cups, you realise it’s huge.”
