‘Deluded’, ‘Just not true’ – Many Sunderland fans frustrated by Max Power’s latest claim

Sunderland midfielder Max Power has claimed he is desperate to help the Black Cats secure promotion and feels they’re in “a good position to go up”, which has drawn a frustrated response from fans of the North East club.

Phil Parkinson’s side are seventh in League One as things stand – outside the top six on goal difference and three points back from the automatic promotion places but having played at least one more game than the sides above them.

Sunderland have seen their promotion push put on hold by the delay to the EFL season and reports have suggested that the League One campaign will be brought to an end this week.

It is understood that clubs will be asked to vote on how the standings will be decided, with a weighted points-per-game system the favourite proposal.

Via the club’s official Twitter account, Power revealed today that he remains desperate to ensure Sunderland are promoted.

The midfielder has been an integral player for the Black Cats this season, making 38 appearances and wearing the captain’s armband.

Can you remember which Sunderland manager signed each of these 15 players? Have a go now!
