Swansea City have seen their Championship play-off hopes suffer a significant blow over the past week following their failure to win any of their three clashes against bottom-half sides.

Steve Cooper's side suffered a 3-2 defeat against Derby County at the Liberty Stadium last Saturday before an underwhelming goalless draw against QPR during the week, and they were then held to a 4-4 draw by Hull on Friday night.

This sequence of results means the Swans are now sitting 11th in the Championship table and five points adrift of the play-off zone, while they are now looking to end a five-game winless run when they host a struggling Huddersfield side next weekend.

The Swans signalled their promotion intent during the January window as they added Premier League trio Rhian Brewster, Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi to their ranks, but these young talents have so far failed to inspire an upturn in results.

Cooper has received some criticism for Swansea's flat performances across the campaign to date, with the 0-0 draw with QPR in particular doing no good to help the former England Under-17s coach win over his doubters in South Wales.

One Swansea supporter took to the Swansea City Supporters Trust Facebook page to suggest Cooper should be replaced by Chris Hughton, with the former Brighton boss having been out of work since leaving his previous role last summer.

Plenty of Swans fans responded to this suggestion by claiming the club would never be capable of luring Hughton to South Wales, while others urged their fellow supporters to back Cooper

Here are some of the responses...

Arthur Bishop: He might be decent and that's your opinion but he is not cheap

Garry Fishlock: Why would he want to come to Swansea? It’s hardly a great opportunity, with no money to spend, and the club getting stripped of all its assets!

Matthew Hopkins: We could never afford him! And why would he come to a side who won’t/ can’t buy players? 🤷🏽

Robert Davies: Deluded

Jack Colman: Give cooper next season

Steffan Perry: Would love Hughton

Roy Powell: Brilliant, but he would never come here.

Duncan Cairns: The boy cooper is doing better than many in the position he is in. Why do you think Brewster and Gallagher joined...
