Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri claims he is the one to blame for the club's plight, although he called on everyone to pull together.

There is serious fan unrest this season after a pretty awful start to the campaign, with Jos Luhuaky's men currently 18th in the Championship and only five points above the relegation zone.

That has prompted a section of supporters to call for Luhukay to be sacked, however so far Chansiri has backed the boss.

And, the Owls media reveal how he told a fans forum that if fans are looking for someone to blame, they should look at him.

"I always say we need to stick together when we don’t have a good day. That is when we need you more. I have never blamed the fans for anything, if I was to give blame I would give it to myself because I am the leader."

After successive top six finishes in recent years, the past 18 months have been very tough for the Yorkshire side.

They are back in action on Saturday when they welcome an in-form Preston to Hillsborough.

The Verdict

This is good from Chansiri as he clearly is not hiding from taking responsibility for the situation the club currently find themselves in - which isn't good enough.

However, it also doesn't mean that those questioning Luhukay are wrong, as many will feel the squad are underperforming and ultimately that lies with the coach.

Either way, things need to change at Wednesday in terms of results and performances because the Owls shouldn't be struggling as they are.
