Charlton Athletic beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon thanks to a free-kick from midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey in the second half.

Four men made their full debuts for the Addicks at the weekend whilst Omar Bogle came on for his own debut as a sub in the second half, underlining the new-look this Charlton team has compared to last season.

It was Forster-Caskey, though, who provided the difference and another player at the club last season in Chuks Aneke impressed greatly with the way he held the ball up and led the line on Saturday.

He showed several nice touches during the game as he brought the ball down and the standout example of that is perhaps the one below where he shrugged off a defender as he went through on goal.

Jamie Jones eventually saved for Wigan but Charlton fans enjoyed the clip online, and it looks as though Deji Oshilaja liked what he saw too:

The defender missed out on the game with a foot injury with Lee Bowyer revealing he was in a protective boot and Chris Gunter came in down the right.

Aneke, meanwhile, showed there's nothing wrong with his feet right now and he'll be looking to do similar against Blackpool.
