It has recently been revealed by TEAMtalk that Sheffield Wednesday have opened talks with Morgan Fox over a potential new deal with the club.

It had previously been claimed by TEAMtalk that the likes of West Brom and Nottingham Forest were interested in signing the defender, who is out of contract at the end of this year's campaign.

Football League World's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Louis Muhsin issued his thoughts on this latest contract update on Fox and feels as though his side have made the right call in entering talks with the full-back.

"I think its definitely the right move by the club to try and tie down Fox to a new contract. He's not had the smoothest time at the club since signing and was coming under some strong stick from some fans even during the early part of this season, but he has been easily on of the standout players for us for the last two or three months based on performance and consistency.

"He's got the fans well and truly on side with his passion and you can tell his confidence is sky high at the moment. With other Championship clubs reportedly lurking, Wednesday need to act quick."

The regular punter went on to reveal what Fox brings to Garry Monk's side this season, and claims that his recent showings have made him 'undroppable'.

"Fox was in and out of the team at the beginning of the season but is easily first choice left-back for us at the moment. His performances have made him undroppable.

"His work rate and commitment have been on show for all to see of late, and the fans have really bought into it and are seeing Morgan Fox arguably playing the best football of his career to date."

Sheffield Wednesday have also been linked with a move for Connor Wickham this month, although it remains to be seen as to what stage of negotiations they are at with the Crystal Palace forward.

Muhsin went on to admit that he is keen to see Wickham arrive, as well as another winger before the transfer window closes on Friday 31st January.

"It's well documented that Wednesday are looking for a striker to bring in, especially with Fletcher out for the next few two or three months. Connor Wickham has been heavily linked and a fit Connor Wickham is more than welcome at Hillsborough.

"Either way a quicker striker who has a natural eye for goal is something the club are crying out for and possibly another winger similar to Kadeem Harris.

"Rolando Aarons has gone back to Newcastle but a lot of fans would be happy to have him back at Wednesday. A couple of players like that could keep Wednesday strongly in the play offs if not higher."

Sheffield Wednesday are next in action on Saturday when they host Blackburn Rovers at Hillsborough, in what could potentially be a tricky test for Garry Monk's men.
