West Bromwich Albion supporters have been debating where they think Nathan Ferguson's best position is, with many saying that his current performances at right-back suggest that could well be his best position.

Ferguson has been a standout performer at the Hawthorns in what has been his breakthrough campaign so far, with the 19-year-old establishing himself as an integral part of Slaven Bilic's side's defence, with his reading of the game and ability to recover on the transition key assets for West Brom.

The defender has been used in both full-back positions so far this campaign, playing the majority of his matches at left-back, having been converted into a full-back from his natural centre half position by Bilic in the opening half of the season.

Bilic has elected to move Ferguson back over to right-back for the Baggies' 4-1 win against Bristol City at the Hawthorns, with Kieran Gibbs coming in on the left-hand side of their defence - and he was again deployed down the right-hand side against Preston North End on Monday night helping West Brom record a fifth clean sheet in their last six away matches.

Can you name every top West Brom goalscorer from the last 14 seasons?

The 19-year-old's calmness in possession and strong tackling ability allow him to play comfortably along any positions in the back four, and some West Brom fans have even pointed out that they think he could become a very effective midfield in the next few years.

Ferguson, though, will be wanting to secure a regular starting place in a settled position rather than having to keep moving around the team, and it will be interesting to see whether his performances in the last two games for the Baggies will see him remain at right-back for a prolonged period.

Here then, we take a look at what West Brom fans have said about what they think his best position is on social media...
