After a stuttering start to their season, Gary Rowett may look to the loan market for some additional striking options.

Benik Afobe has scored both goals in the Potters' openers, an opening day defeat to impressive Leeds United and then a point when they entertained Brentford at the weekend.

It could be argued that the Potters need more attacking reinforcements, especially in the striker position, and one player who is not getting a look in at his current club, and whom could be available on loan, is Burnley's Nahki Wells.

Would Nahki Wells bring anything new to the Stoke squad? Should Stoke make a move for the former Huddersfield man?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

No, no no!

Maybe I'm being harsh on Wells, but he had a couple of decent seasons at Huddersfield and that is it.

He scored 49 in four seasons, that isn't a huge amount, certainly not if he wants to play for a side like Stoke who aspire to be Premier League.

Wells could fit in at a lower to mid table side, but if you want promotion I believe you need better than him.

Jay Williams

Definitely not. The last thing Stoke need is another striker on their books.

In Benik Afobe, they have a potential golden boot winner and in Peter Crouch, they have a target man to bring on during the games.

The Potters also have Mame Biram Diouf, Bojan Krkic, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, Julien Ngoy and Saido Berahino on their books - all of whom could be top Championship strikers.

Wells would simply not get as much game time as he would like at Stoke and they do not need him.

George Dagless

It's worth a look.

Stoke haven't started well and need to inject some impetus into their side before they start getting cut adrift.

Wells would add some hunger and Championship experience to the Potters' front-line.

Jay Taylor

If they are linked with Conor Wickham I would not bother.

Wells is similar to Benik Afobe, albeit it smaller.

Wells would add goals but would the two play together and be able to function as a pair? It would remain to be seen.

He would be a good addition to the squad but would he play every week over Afobe? I doubt it.

Sam Rourke

Definitely.

Stoke need more striking options and signing someone like Nahki Wells would be useful.

He''s in desperate need of first-team action and the Bet365 Stadium could be a good place for him to go.

Go for it Rowett.
