Many Birmingham City fans have taken to Facebook to discuss whether they would welcome a permanent move for Jake Clarke-Salter.

The defender, who is currently on loan at St Andrew's from Chelsea, has produced a number of impressive performances in recent weeks following a tough start to life in the West Midlands.

Clarke-Salter was forced to watch on from the sidelines during the opening months of the season as Birmingham head coach opted to pair Marc Roberts with Harlee Dean in the heart of defence.

However, after Dean was shown a red card in the club's 4-2 defeat to Cardiff City in November, the England Under-21 international was given the opportunity to impress.

A string of solid displays in the Championship allowed Clarke-Salter to keep his place in the Blues' starting eleven before injury ruled him out of the majority of the festive period.

Since the defender's return to action earlier this month, his side have embarked on a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions which is something that they will be looking to extend this weekend against Coventry City in the FA Cup.
