It is unclear whether Leeds United full-back Laurens De Bock will get the chance to join ADO Den Haag this summer, despite the Dutch side having the option to turn his loan permanent.

Leeds signed De Bock themselves during the winter of 2017/18, but he struggled to make any sort of impact under Thomas Christiansen or Paul Heckingbottom.

Marcelo Bielsa had a look in the summer of 2018, but quickly moved De Bock out of the club.

De Bock has spent time with Oostende and Sunderland, but wound up at Den Haag over the winter. There, he made eight appearances under Alan Pardew before the Dutch game was abandoned due to public safety.

Leeds Live have revealed that there’s an option for the Dutch side to make that deal permanent, but given the state of world football, it is unclear whether the 27-year-old will be able to make that move.

At Leeds, Stuart Dallas currently features as the club’s left-back, whilst Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski offer alternatives in the form of senior members of the squad.

Leif Davis is a current academy player pushing that first-team trio.

The Verdict

Whether De Bock makes his move to Den Haag might be up in the air, but the chances are that his future will certainly not be at Elland Road.

Leeds are pushing for the Premier League and have ample options in the left-back slot, even if it remains a problem position of sorts.

De Bock never really fit the mould at Elland Road and his future almost certainly lays elsewhere.
