Leeds will listen to offers for left back Tom Pearce in the summer transfer window, it has been reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 21-year-old defender has made ten appearances for Leeds in all competitions, scoring once in a 2-1 Championship win over Barnsley in April 2018 for the Elland Road side.

Despite some impressive performances early in his Leeds career, Pearce struggled for game time at Elland Road this season, and in January he was loaned out to Scunthorpe

Pearce made nine appearances and scored once for The Iron, but was unable to prevent them being relegated from League One on a dramatic final day of the season as they lost 3-2 away at Plymouth Argyle, who were also relegated due to results elsewhere.

Now it seems that Pearce could be set for a more permanent move away from Elland Road, after The Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that the 21-year-old is one of several players the club will allow to leave in the summer transfer window.

There are still three years remaining on Pearce's Elland Road contract, meaning Leeds will be able to demand a fee for the defender.

The verdict

This feels like the right move.

Pearce is clearly not in the first team plans at Leeds, and as he approaches the peak of his career, you feel he needs to play as much as possible to get the best out of his time in football.

While that now seems as if it will not happen at Elland Road, you feel the potential he has shown means he will not be short of offers from further down the divisions.
