Central defender Sol Bamba has turned down an offer from Leeds United to join the Elland Road club on a permanent basis, according to HITC.
Bamba signed for Leeds on loan from Palermo during the January transfer window and made a lasting impression on the club with a string of powerful displays.
The 30-year-old was part of the side on 19 occasions during his time with the club and made himself a fan favourite.
Leeds were keen to turn the deal into a permanent one, but the former Leicester City and Hibernian defender has rejected an initial approach for his services.
It is thought that the rejection could be tied in with Bamba’s criticism of Leeds owner Massimo Cellino earlier this month. The player claimed that the dismissal of assistant manager Steve Thompson caused a dressing room divide, and that he was not a fan of how the Italian was running the club.
The move comes as a blow to new boss Uwe Rosler who is keen to get his summer recruitment process up and running.
