Birmingham City's season can only be described as tumultuous with the efforts of Garry Monk and his squad to get into the play-off mix, being scuppered after the club was hit with an immediate nine point deduction for failing FFP rules, leaving them in 18th spot with only eight matches of the season remaining.

One player who has been a virtual constant for Monk this season, has been 24-year-old defender Kristian Pedersen who has made 31 appearances for the Blues this campaign.

But what would be the one word that sums up Pedersen's season at Birmingham?

We discuss........

Alfie Burns

“Decent.

“He’s been steady at left-back and involved in some of Birmingham’s better performances.

“There’s room for improvement, but he can be pleased with how he’s adapted to a difficult league.”

George Harbey

"Frustrating.

"I think out of all the Birmingham players, he’s been the one who has flattered to deceive on more than one occasion.

"It’s sod’s law, also, that he was a major part in Birmingham’s FFP problems too."

Louie Chandler

"Admirable.

"I chose this word because with all the off-field problems surrounding him and the club it would have been easy for his levels to drop.

"But he has been consistently solid at left-back during his first season in English football and that is to be admired."

Jay Taylor

“Sublime.

“Pedersen has been one of Birmingham’s most consistent performers at left-back and has rarely let Garry Monk down.

“It’s rare a player is consistent for the wholes campaign, but the Birmingham man has close to that.

“He has been as effective at the back as Che Adams has been going forward.”
