Aston Villa have Dean Smith as their new manager and he'll be surely itching to get going once the international break is over.

After a week of uncertainty following Steve Bruce's sacking, the Villans have got a combination of Smith and John Terry as the number 1 and 2.

Others like Thierry Henry and Rui Faria had been heavily linked but, after making a move for Smith yesterday afternoon, they got their man last night.

It'll be interesting to see how he does, then, with many expecting a new attacking edge to be demonstrated after some cautious football under Steve Bruce.

We could see some players get a new lease of life, then, so here we're taking a look at two that might benefit from that...

Scott Hogan is one man surely itching to get going under Smith.

He had a tough time under Steve Bruce and we only saw flashes of him during the former manager's tenure.

He was superb under Smith at Griffin Park, though, so watch this space.

Henri Lansbury looked set for the exit at some point under Bruce but he now gets a fresh chance.

He has quality and if he can get match-sharp he could prove a real point.

He's a player that could be a good asset as Villa look to challenge for the play-offs.
