Manager Dean Smith has revealed that the club have options over on loan trio Anwar El Ghazi; Kortney Hause and Tyrone Mings as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

All three players have played important parts in Villa's promotion campaign this season, and they could be back in the Midlands next season.

Speaking in his post match press conference, which Football League World attended, after Monday's 2-1 win over Derby in the Championship play-off final, Smith revealed that the club have options to buy both El Ghazi and Hause, as well the option to match any other transfer bid that is made for Mings.

El Ghazi, who headed the opening goal of Monday's Wembley final, has scored six goals and registered a further six assists in 34 Championship appearances during a season long loan from French side Lille.

Mings and Hause meanwhile joined on loan in January from Premier League duo Bournemouth and Wolves respectively, with Mings twice in his 18 appearances for Dean Smith's side, and Hause - who replaced an injured Mings in the final minutes of Villa's Wembley win - making 12 appearances and scoring once in total.

The verdict

This is a big boost for Villa.

They will surely want to keep as much of this promotion winning squad together, and Mings and El Ghazi in particular have been key contributors in defence and attack respectively.

It would have been difficult for Villa to keep any of these at the club had they failed to win promotion, but there will now be a confidence around Villa Park heading into the summer transfer window that only promotion can bring to a side outside the top division.
