Sheffield United's Sander Berge is wanted man this Deadline Day and it remains to be seen if he remains in Yorkshire beyond tonight's 11pm deadline.

The 24-year-old is currently being looked at by Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Fulham, with the Norwegian international thriving with the Blades as they chase down automatic promotion.

One other team that may loosely have Berge on their radar are current Premier League leader Arsenal, as they attempt to strike an expensive deal for Brighton's Moises Caicedo.

Suggesting that the Gunners should take a look at the 24-year-old if their Caicedo pursuit fails, Dean Jones told Football League World: "It even makes me wonder about somebody like Sander Berge.

"I mean, I don't have any direct information on that but a player that is readily available right now and is being touted around, kind of seems like it could suit Arsenal perfectly if that Caicedo deal doesn't come off."

The verdict

Berge is ready for the Premier League and has proven to be a level above for quite some time now, although the Blades will be eager to keep hold of the Norwegian midfielder.

Sheffield United are making excellent progress in their pursuit of returning to England's top-flight, and should that be achieved, you would think he would be central to their plans, should no move come to fruition.

However, the level of interest that has surfaced for the young midfielder speaks volumes about the kind of talent he possesses.

Arsenal are in need of adding depth to their squad, and whilst he is a Championship player, he is perhaps the finest player that the division has to offer.
