Deal Close: Wolves closing in on international striker, £2.3m bid lodged

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a bid for Anderlecht striker Idrissa Sylla, according to the Express and Star.

The bid is reported to be £2.3m as Anderlecht look to cash in on the forward. England appears to be Sylla’s preferred destination so a move to Wolves looks viable as they look to bolster their attack for the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old is an aerial powerhouse, standing at 6’2” with a huge leap and would work well with Nouha Dicko or Joe Mason. The left-footed striker scored 7 goals in 34 appearances last year but was mainly used as an impact substitution by the Belgian giants.

Sylla would bring Europa League experience to Molineux having featured in the home and away fixtures against Tottenham this year.

Wolves were previously interested in the Guinea forward before signing Benik Afobe instead and would have to fight Sunderland, Swansea, Southampton, Burnley and Trabzonspor for his signature.

Wolves fans…what do you think? Is this the type of striker that you need? Who else would you like to sign? Let us know in the comments below…
