Newly relegated League One side Wigan Athletic are set to secure the signing of Tranmere Rovers midfielder Max Power, according to FLW sources.
The 21-year-old is an academy product at Tranmere and had a fantastic campaign last year in a horrendous few years for the Rovers, who were relegated from the Football League, along with Cheltenham Town.
Ever since relegation was confirmed for Wigan, he’s remained a target for Gary Caldwell, as he’s out of contract this summer and will arrive on a free transfer, but Tranmere will be due compensation for him.
Power scored seven goals last year in League Two whilst making seven assists, and is seen as one of the fourth tier’s finest talents.
Wigan are looking for a complete reshuffle of their squad this summer following their shock relegation down to League One.
