Reading under Clarke have made a very impressive start to the season and found themselves in the play-offs a few weeks ago, but they have endured a mini slump of sorts recently, with a home draw to Huddersfield and a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Cardiff.

If Reading are going to reignite a top six challenge, then they will have to add new faces but it may surprise fans that they have opted for two non league players.

But the recent success of some non-league stars like Jamie Vardy has made it clear that there are hidden gems in non-league football, and Reading may of unearthed two right here in the shape of Sweeney and Williams.

Dulwich Hamlet's midfielder Sweeney and Tower Hamlet's winger Mitchell met up with Reading earlier this month and now they have linked up with Reading for training - they are both in on a trial basis and no contracts have yet been signed.

21-year-old Sweeney has been in fine form with seven goals for Dulwich and there were many clubs chasing him but Reading look to of moved into pole position - whilst Williams who is an ex-trainee with Tottenham is just 18 and delivered some scintillating performances at non-league and has many scouts chasing him but Reading lead the chase.
