Premier League outfit Southampton are reportedly on the brink of bringing Norwich’s talented young winger Nathan Redmond to St Mary’s for a fee in the region of £11 million, according to The Mirror.
The deal has come around after speculation mounted that Senegalese winger Sadio Mane is on his way out of the club, to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.
Redmond was Norwich’s standout player last season in the Premier League and had an outstanding season with the Canaries, bagging 6 goals, but after suffering relegation after finishing in 19th place, Redmond was always likely to move on.
His excellent string of performances in the Toulon Tournament, which was won by the England under-21 side, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including the likes of Stoke, who made a statement last season by bringing in Xherdan Shaqiri and Giannelli Imbula, but it’s Southampton who are leading the chase.
For now though, Redmond remains a Norwich player, and no deal is confirmed as of yet.
