Middlesbrough forward Lee Tomlin is in advanced talks with Premier League club Bournemouth after Boro accepted a £3 million bid from the Cherries, according to BBC Solent Sport.
Tomlin was instrumental for Boro last season scoring seven goals in 28 appearances as Aitor Karanka’s men were defeated in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final.
Premier League interest appears to have turned the Leicester-born forward’s head however and talks of a transfer have been ripe throughout the summer months.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been reasonably active this summer as he prepares the club for their first season in the Premier League and has already signed six players, and he looks set to make Tomlin his sixth addition to at the Vitality Stadium.
It would be interesting to see where Tomlin would fit into the current Cherries starting line-up as the club already have an array of attacking options, but for a fee of £3 million, you would expect Tomlin to be heavily involved in the first-team next season.
Boro fans.. Would you welcome the departure of Tomlin? Would he be easy to replace? Who would you like to see replace him, should he depart? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
