Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson looks set to complete a move to Preston North End, according to sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Pearson has spent the first half of the season on loan at League One Barnsley, and impressed with his performances there – and those impressive performances seemingly led to increased interest from the league above, and it appears now Preston have secured their man.
A fee in the region of £100,000 has been agreed, and Pearson has already agreed personal terms and undergone a medical.
The 20-year-old has been at Manchester United his entire career, but has never really threatened to nail down a first team starting berth.
Preston lie in 15th place in the Sky Bet Championship at the moment, having taken 31 points from their 25 games, and Simon Grayson will be hoping Pearson can help improve on that total as they enter the second half of the season.
