Discussions are underway with Fulham and the Israeli side to agree a compensation deal for Jokanovic, who helped Watford to the Premier League last season before leaving Vicarage Road in the summer.

It appears that the West London side are close to securing Jokanovic as their next manager, and may be in place to lead the side against Derby County on Boxing Day.

Fulham have struggled to find a new boss since the sacking of Kit Symons on the 8th of November, and have been linked with several bosses, such as Nigel Pearson and Steve Clarke.

The Cottagers' performances are suffering and they have not won a game since the dismissal of the Welsh coach.

Stuart Gray was brought in as the ‘Senior Coach’ at the start of the month to bring some stability to the club while they looked for a permanent replacement for Symons, but that has thus far failed.

The Serbian coach has a proven track record in the Championship, after leading Watford to promotion last season, but was let go after failing to agree a new contract with the Hornets.

He went on to be appointed as the Maccabi Tel Aviv boss in the summer and led the Israeli champions to the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in eleven years.

Fulham are struggling this season and occupy 18th place in the Championship, just six points clear of the bottom three.

The permanent appointment of Jokanovic will finally settle the nerves of the fans as they could have a reputable manager on their hands who has experienced success with a Championship club.
