Parkin is a local businessman who tried to purchase the club back in 2013, but lost out to Cellino, but now with the club in disrepute it looks like Cellino is interested in selling.

Earlier this month a proposed takeover from a fan group known as Leeds Fans United looked on the verge of buying a controlling stake in Leeds for £30 million from Cellino, but the Italian pulled out at the last minute.

Cellino revealed to Sky Sports that a potential six buyers had contacted his lawyers with an interest in buying the club.

If Cellino is going to sell he would rather do a deal with a local businessman and that certainly would suit Parkin.

Parkin has revealed to Sky Sports: " What happens to my club is important to me, I keep my business affairs private. That does not mean I am about to buy Leeds ".

Cellino has revealed that the club is now in a financially stable situation and he is ready to sell but wants to do it with the right man.

With a bidding war potentially ensuing it will be interesting to see if this instability disturbs the good work Leeds boss Steve Evans has been doing.

But a takeover that brings stability after the chaotic reign of Cellino, may be a good thing in the long term.
