Sky Bet League Two club Hartlepool United are set to bolster their squad by signing winger Jason Banton on loan from divisional rivals Wycombe Wanderers, according to HITC Sport.
It is a somewhat bizarre transfer, as Banton only signed for Wycombe in the summer from Plymouth Argyle and has featured for the club seven times this season.
Gareth Ainsworth has however been reluctant to play Banton from the start on a regular basis and appears willing to let the player leave the club on loan to play more football.
As a youngster the talented winger was with both Arsenal and Liverpool and will now join Ronnie Moore’s side at Victoria Park until January.
The 22-year-old first played professional football for Leicester City and has also played for Crystal Palace in the Championship too.
His experience of playing higher up the football pyramid could prove vital for the Pools moving forward in their League Two campaign.
Hartlepool United currently sit in 17th position in Sky Bet League Two, having accumulated 13 points from 12 league games so far this season.
