Derby County have agreed to meet the buy-out clause for Hull City forward Tom Ince and could sign the player for a fee of more then £3.5m, BBC Radio Derby are reporting.
Ince enjoyed a successful loan spell at the iPro Stadium last season and netted 11 goals in 18 games for the club, in what was a very productive loan stint for the former Liverpool winger.
He does have one-year left on his contract at the KC Stadium although there was an agreement in place as part of the temporary package put together last season by the two clubs.
Derby now look to have triggered that clause and are set to smash their record transfer fee who was previously £3.5m for Robert Earnshaw in 2007.
New Rams boss Paul Clement said upon his arrival in the East Midlands that the club were keen to bring Ince back to the club but it was unsure whether the club would be willing to pay such a fee for the player.
Clement has already bolstered his squad with the signings of Darren Bent and Alex Pearce who arrived last week.
