Bristol City’s strengthening for the new season looks set to continue with the signing of Juventus defender Hordur Magnusson, according to the Bristol Post.
Reports are suggesting the deal is close to completion with the 23-year-old making the Iceland Euro 2016 squad that knocked out England.
Even though he failed to make an appearance, the talented 23-year-old left back has plenty of experience of football at a high level.
He has spent the last 2 seasons on loan at Seria A side Cesena making 40 appearances and gaining plenty of first team experience before they were relegated.
But breaking through at Juventus is immensely difficult and reports suggest a £2.5 million deal has been agreed to sell him to Bristol City.
He has 5 international appearances and is renowned for his pace and dead ball skills.
Lee Johnson’s side will be looking to steer well clear of the lower echelons of the Sky Bet Championship next season, and the signing of Magnusson will undoubtedly help shore up their defence which was leaky at times last season.
