Huddersfield striker James Vaughan is set to sign for fellow Championship side Birmingham City before the loan deadline, reports HITC.
Blues manager Gary Rowett has been looking for a striker on loan, but an injury to the club’s main front man Clayton Donaldson has forced him to step up the search.
It now looks like Rowett has identified the 27-year old as his top target and the club will hope to complete the deal, before the emergency loan deadline on Thursday.
After starting his career at Everton, and became one of the most reliable goal scorers in the Championship when he first signed for the Terriers, scoring 14 in 37 games when on loan.
He made a permanent move to the John Smith’s Stadium and scored 12 in 26, but struggled last season with injuries and form and he finished the campaign with just 7 goals.
This season he has struggled for game time and he will hope a move to St Andrews’ can kick-start his career, after playing just four times this season.
