Sky Bet League Two side Notts County look set to sign Crawley Town striker Izale McLeod after the two clubs agreed a fee for the player, a club insider from Crawley Town has informed Football League World.
The 30-year-old only signed for the Red Devils last summer but was in superb form last season netting 21 goals from 42 appearances in a Crawley shirt.
Notts and Crawley were both relegated from League One at the end of last season and the Magpies have been tracking the ex-Derby striker for the majority of the close season.
A six-figure amount was rejected last month for the striker but Notts are now set to open talks with the powerful striker.
McLeod is a proven goalscorer at League Two level and would be a real statement of intent from Notts if they can get the deal over the line.
Ricardo Moniz’s men have had an indifferent start and after winning their first two games against Stevenage in the league and Huddersfield in the cup, they have lost back-to-back games to Mansfield and Oxford United.
Notts fans… Would you welcome McLeod? Notts have signed a lot of players this summer, is that behind the indifferent start? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
