Middlesbrough fans have been left excited by the latest update regarding Ben Gibson’s future.

According to the Daily Mail, the Burnley defender is set to link up with the Teessiders in a casual arrangement that will see him train with Jonathan Woodgate’s side.

The 27-year-old left Middlesbrough for Turf Moor in the summer of 2018 but has endured a torrid time with the Clarets after making just one Premier League appearance for the club in over 18 months.

It’s claimed that Gibson has been involved in a disagreement with the Burnley coaching staff  – a row which led to suggestions that he could be forced to train with the under-23 side.

However it’s now been agreed that he’ll be allowed to train with his hometown club as a solution that is beneficial to all parties involved.
