Deal Agreed: Birmingham City agree loan deal for Rotherham defender

Birmingham City have agreed a deal for versatile Rotherham defender Greg Halford, according to sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 30-year old has a lot of experience in the Championship and has played in every position on the pitch, excluding in goal.

He joined the Yorkshire side after being released by Nottingham Forest in the summer but has found game time hard to come by, playing just six league games for the Millers.

He will now move to St Andrews’ and provide manager Gary Rowett with cover at the back as well as in defensive midfield as they look to continue their solid start to the campaign.

The Blues are currently sixth in the Championship and are one of the surprise packages this season but they face a tough trip to uneaten Brighton on Saturday as they look to consolidate their play-off place.
