Nathan Jones is nearing the end of his first calendar month in charge of Stoke City, and he has a week to make any additions to the squad.

Despite Stoke’s tendency to force managers out with protests and similar, the club usually give their bosses a few transfer windows to build a squad.

That wasn’t the case with Gary Rowett, who was let go after just half a season.

Now, Jones has a week left of the window, and this could determine his side's fortunes for the rest of the season.

Here, we look at THREE things to look out for at Stoke City as the transfer window enters its final week.

Do you agree with our predictions, or can you see something else happening or not happening this week? Let us know in the comments below.

A new striker

Benik Afobe and Saido Berahino have significantly underperformed this season, with neither living up to the standards they should be aiming for in this division.

Tyrese Campbell has made a couple of appearances under Jones, and while he has looked good, it is probable that the Potters will look for a new striker in the next week.

Offloading the deadwood

‘Deadwood’ tends to be a slang used in football to describe players who are not injured, but nevertheless get anywhere near the starting eleven.

As is often the case with relegated clubs, Stoke have a lot of this and they could use the next week to get a bit of that off their wage bill.

Panic buys

Nathan Jones isn’t one to panic buy, maybe because he has never had the means to do so in the past, but Stoke may welcome a couple of players through the doors in the next week.

Despite the win against Leeds, he will be eager to strengthen his team and he could see a couple of arrivals.
