Bristol Rovers have confirmed that the club's CEO, Martyn Starnes, has resigned from his role at the Memorial Ground.

Starnes and the club have agreed that he will leave at the end of the month after three and a half years in the job.

During his time with the club, almost half of it has come during the ongoing pandemic, adding extra pressures to the role.

He has also helped deliver a first-class training facility in the Quarters in Almondsbury.

Starnes departs with Joey Barton's side currently in 14th place, recovering well after a difficult start to the League Two campaign.

The Gas are currently five points from the play-off positions, and will also take great confidence from last night's enthralling FA Cup tie.

Rovers came out on top in a replay against Oxford United, coming back from 3-1 down in the 110th minute, to win 4-3 at the end of extra time.

Starnes will also leave his role as a director at the club, citing personal reasons as to why he is departing the club.

With Starnes leaving his respective roles at the club, we take a look at how Bristol Rovers fans on Twitter have reacted to the latest news...
