In the last couple of days Davis was almost guaranteed to join the newly relegated club but the deal now looks off as David Davis and Barnsley were unable to make an agreement over personal terms.
However Davis is still expected to leave Wolves, most probably on loan. The 23 year old fell down the ranks at Wolves last season and found himself struggling to get into the starting team.
The midfielder will not feature in tomorrow’s game against Crewe but he will return to the first team if no club comes in for him.
Jackett said over the Davis loan “Nothing’s been agreed with Barnsley or ourselves and at present he’s a Wolves player”
“It was going to be a loan deal, but it’s down to terms rather than football. They did discuss a potential sale as well, after the loan, but the basis of it was a loan and terms haven’t been agreed.”
