Bolton Wanderers look like a team that are destined to be heading into League One in the near future, with their off-the-field troubles worsening by the day.

A week of turmoil has resulted in their game with Millwall only being confirmed as going ahead midway through this week, but that is just half of their problems.

Reputable journalist, Alan Nixon revealed that the Bolton players are still yet to be paid their wages for February, with a deadline being set for Sunday to reach a conclusion.

The Trotters take on Millwall on Saturday, which is a season-defining game which will go a long way in deciding which direction their season heads in.

Bolton defender, David Wheater issued a rallying cry to supporters

/BuwvWpZn0Rz/">on Instagram, who have endured a tough week with all the financial troubles they have had to witness in recent weeks.

Phil Parkinson's side are currently sat 23rd in the Championship table and are in real danger of falling into League One this season.

They've been in a poor run of form at the worst possible time and they are one of the favourites to be relegated as the season edges closer to it's conclusion.

Wheater is suspended for the game on Saturday, but he'll be hoping that his team-mates can find a positive result against a Millwall side that are looking to find a crucial three points of their own.

It's going to be a tightly-contested game at The Den, where a defeat for Bolton in particular, could be the final nail in the coffin in a disastrous week for the Trotters.

The Verdict:

This is a make or break game in Bolton's season.

If they lose to one of their relegation rivals, then that all but ends their chances of Championship survival.

The off-the-field troubles seem to be catching up with them and I struggle to see that they can turn around their poor run of form anytime soon.
